Areas of Ministry to Serve
Our Ministry Excellence Teams provides an opportunity to put the Word you are hearing into action in your individual life. We serve others based on the commandments of Jesus in Matthew 20:27-28. Jesus says to His disciples "And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: Even as the son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many."
By serving, you are first of all fulfilling what Jesus has called us to do, and you have the chance to build relationships with others within the Family Life. As you serve others and pour your life out for them we want to pour into you and help you develop your gifts and abilities while giving you the opportunity to use your gifts and abilities for the furtherance of the Kingdom.
There’s another way to think of what it means to serve. God calls us to love and serve our neighbors. How about when:
-
We think and act not only in our own best interests, but also take seriously life in community and our responsibilities to all of God’s people.
-
We place others' interests ahead of our own.
-
We are knit into relationships of mutual care.
-
We act with a focus on generosity.
If we truly consider others’ interests, the ways in which we serve will reflect walking together, making decisions together, learning from one another, and respecting one another’s gifts and vocations.
